Three pieces for ensemble (arranged by Richard Dünser)

Date of composition: 2011
Scoring: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, violin I & II, viola, violoncello, double bass
Duration: 29 minutes
Richard Dünser’s arrangement and instrumentation of Schubert’s piano works impressively documents the composer’s path towards great symphonic writing. Contrasts of mood and strong emotional phrasing which are typical of the composer emerge.
A differentiated balance within the musical expression and an intensification of the emotions evoked by the music are achieved through the “choral” treatment of the strings.
Recording: Péridot Salzburg, Peter Peinstingl
